EROAD’s chairman, Tony Gibson, has been appointed Chief Executive of Ports of Auckland Ltd. Mr Gibson will continue in his role as chairman of EROAD’s Board of Directors.
Mr Gibson has 30 years’ experience in shipping and logistics, first with Seabridge in Wellington, and then with Nedlloyd and P&O Nedlloyd. He worked in various roles in Africa, Asia and Europe, before being appointed Managing Director, New Zealand and Pacific Islands in 2002. Following a take-over by Maersk, Mr Gibson served as Managing Director of Maersk, New Zealand for three years.
Prior to joining EROAD, Mr Gibson was appointed by the Minister of Transport to the Road User Charges Review Group.
EROAD is a privately owned company that has implemented the world’s first autonomous GNSS/CN (Global Navigation Satellite Systems/Cellular Network) Eruc system for heavy vehicles.
