EROAD extends AWS partnership

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is featuring Kiwi transport technology and services provider EROAD as a case study on its global website.

EROAD recently extended its relationship with AWS, migrating its New Zealand business from a physical-based infrastructure to the Amazon enterprise cloud this month.

EROAD partnered with the cloud service provider in 2013 to aid its expansion into Australia and North America. AWS’s global infrastructure allows the company to establish secure, low-cost environments for staging and testing, with 99.9% service availability.

AWS enables EROAD to build new environments in minutes, across multiple regions and availability zones; giving it the scalability and resilience it needs to expand into markets like the US and Australia.

EROAD has also selected AWS to help develop its analytics platform, using Amazon Redshift for high-performance, secure and scalable storage of its big data set, and Tableau Software for data visualisation.

”EROAD is experiencing extraordinary international success and has been awarded as one of Australasia’s fastest growing technology companies. We are very pleased to continue our ongoing relationship with EROAD as they continue their global expansion," Ed Lenta, Managing Director, Amazon ANZ, said.

EROAD Engineering Manager Jarred Clayton said the company’s choice of AWS supports its rapid global expansion, but also provides significant benefits to existing customers, with faster access to data, high availability, and analytics as a service.

“The big data insights we’re now able to offer our customers allows them to blend their own commercial data using connectors at a rapid pace at commodity prices,” Mr Clayton said.

EROAD uses the AWS Sydney Region for its New Zealand and Australia business systems, with its US system hosted in Amazon Virtual Private Clouds in Oregon.
