Reduce accidents. Save lives.
This Road Safety Week, our thoughts are with all those who have lost friends or family members on our roads. In 2022, 377 lives were lost on New Zealand roads and 1187 on Australian roads.
Every day our team works alongside our customers and partners to help reduce accidents and make our roads safer for all road users. Road Safety Week is also a chance to recognise them and their commitment to making our roads safer.
Technology can help improve safety, but at its core, safety is about human behaviour. It’s the choices and the trade-offs made, often within seconds, to get the job done quicker, to get past the truck, to speed through the amber light. We asked our team to share their advice about how we can all help make our roads safer.
Some top tips from the EROAD team:
- The left line is your lifeline
- Give trucks plenty of space
- Be aware of other peoples’ blind spots
- Keep head rests in the lowest position
Thank you to all our employees, customers and partners. We know that by working together, we can make a difference so that more people return home safely at the end of their work day or shift.
